This L- Shape Rear Dormer Loft Conversion has not only transformed our customers property but has also changed the way they live, giving the children an upstairs playroom and a huge master suite with dressing area and bathroom for dad, Richard.

The once 4 bedroom property situated in Elvetham Heath, Fleet is now a comfortable 5 bedroom home with a “snug” or possible 6th bedroom. This spacious loft conversion was completed in under 12 weeks with SkyLofts and our customer is over the moon with the end result.

This velux loft conversion in Bramley transformed Sam and Chris’ three bedroom terraced house into a four bedroom including a large double loft room with ensuite. Velux Conversion, Knaphill, Surrey

This velux conversion in Knaphill transformed customers Nick and Connie’s home from a cosy three bedroom property to a spacious three bedroom home. Our customers decided that along with converting their loft into a master suite with plenty of built in storage, they decided to knock the wall down between the two small spare rooms on the first floor to create a large guest bedroom. After alterations to the first floor landing to accommodate the new staircase it left them with another good size guest bedroom that Nick now uses as a home office.

When embarking on a loft conversion, stay focused on primary use for the space. This will enable you to home in on your design and consider all aspects of your vision – lighting, space, storage, ambiance. Telebeams – The New Bespoke Floor Structure

What are TeleBeams?

A telebeam is a strong, telescopic aluminum beam which provides support for the new floor load and existing roof load.

How Does It Work?

Where roof trusses work on a ‘Load Sharing’ system, TeleBeam extends this concept further by employing two beams to help the truss carry its existing roof load plus the additional floor load as a result of the conversion. This approach minimises loss of headroom. The beams are telescopic and adjust to the span of the building and work for any roof pitch. They span from outside wall to outside wall and do not rely on any internal support.

SkyLofts started using TeleBeams in 2015 as an alternative method to steel beams. As a brand new, and completely individual product – it’s attractive bespoke and completely adaptable system is becoming ever popular in modern properties with roof trusses and a traditional cut roof.

Our customers based in Hampton, decided to have a loft conversion to help maximise the space they had in their home for two growing children. House prices have been on the rise for a while and the loft had such great height, it made financial sense to stay where they were and convert the loft to gain that extra space they required. This L-Shape dormer conversion in Farnborough gave our customers a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom which includes a large walk in shower and corner jacuzzi bath. The duration of the build was just over 8 weeks. Our customers first looked into have a loft conversion so that their two young children could have a room each. Adding a large master bedroom with ensuite has added value to their home and avoided the extra cost and hassle of moving.

Even though we are a small business SkyLofts is growing rapidly and working in Marketing & PR I am constantly looking for ways to improve and expand SkyLofts with new marketing tools and ideas. I want to understand all aspects of the business and ensure our customers have the best experience they can while converting their loft.

What is the most exciting thing about working with SkyLofts?

Working at SkyLofts is a real education and I love the variety of my working day here. I can be putting invoices on the system or out visiting our customers to see their completed loft. I enjoy seeing how thrilled they are with their new space!

If you could be anyone famous for a day, who would you be?

It would be very insightful to have a sneak peak into the life of Alan Sugar who has come from nothing and made something for himself, to fully understand how hard you need to work and find out what motivated him to become the success he is today.

What’s your biggest motivation in life?

I want to be successful and prove that having a degree isn’t everything. I believe you can achieve success in life by being who you are and not by what qualifications you have. I’m motivated to gather knowledge from SkyLofts, gain new skills and enjoy a satisfying position in such a successful organisation.

Hip to Gable Rear Dormer, Camberley, Surrey

Darren and Lindsey have converted their unused loft area into two spacious bedrooms for their son and daughter, a shared bathroom and large landing area. This hip to gable, with a full width rear dormer has used their loft to full potential and given them more downstairs living space. Lindsey and Darren’s bungalow has been transformed into a large 4 bedroom house and by using Nick’s clever designs Lindsey and Darren managed to gain a utility room downstairs and are using the fourth bedroom as a playroom for their two children. This was a large project but SkyLofts completed the loft in just over 6 weeks.
